Vacant/Works

 

Vacant/Works is a platform for diverse activities that explore the potential of placemaking. It also serves as a space to practice the “L.I.F.E. CYCLE” envisioned through Cultural Placeology—an ongoing cycle of Learning, Imagining, Fermenting, and Embodying embedded in everyday life.
 

In collaborative projects with other partners, we draw on a panoramic perspective and deep understanding of cultural relationships to uncover and weave together the layered cultural elements inherent in each project. From concept development to final design output, we aim to shape multifaceted and cohesive expressions that resonate as new forms of “place.”

Vacant/Worksは、場づくりの可能性を探求する多様な活動のためのプラットフォームであり、同時に〈文化空間学〉が描く“L.I.F.E. CYCLE” ―〈学ぶ/Learn〉〈想像する/Imagine〉〈醸成する/Ferment）〉〈表現する/Embody）〉― という、日常に根ざした循環的なプロセスを実践する場でもあります。

他組織とのコラボレーションでは、これまでに培ってきた文化へのパノラマ的視点を活かし、各プロジェクトに内在する多層的な文化要素を丁寧に紐解きながら、それらが響き合う新たな「場」を構想します。コンセプト開発から最終的なデザインアウトプットに至るまで、多面的かつ調和に満ちた表現をかたちづくることを目指します。
