Sharlen Nozawa

Sharlen Nozawa is a Paris-based ceramic artist whose work is informed by the Japanese ceramics she grew up around in Hawaii, alongside the Korean heritage of her grandfather and wider East Asian ceramic traditions. Her pieces explore how forms and techniques travel across cultures and generations. Often drawing on historical references without directly reproducing them, Nozawa creates pieces that feel both familiar and distinctly her own. She does not sign her work, instead seeing each vessel as part of a longer, shared ceramic conversation.
