Affectionately known as “B-chan,” Nishiyama runs Tsuchinoko in Nishiogu, Tokyo. Conceived as a place to share the appeal of earthenware, Tsuchinoko invites people to discover the qualities of clay and the pleasure of handcraft through working with clay and making vessels.
Alongside producing and selling handmade earthenware, she offers workshops that introduce participants to the process, beginning with crushing the clay.
