Silent Resonance
Exhibition in LA
#curation, #installation
A group exhibition was held at Galerie Lulla in downtown LA, coinciding with Frieze Los Angeles. Curated in collaboration with Roche Projects, with whom Althe Art Residency works, the exhibition reflected Japanese aesthetics.
This time, we aimed to create a space within Galerie Lulla's open environment where works born through the unique sensibilities cultivated by Japanese culture could "resonate" with one another.
One key element within the concept of "unique sensibilities" is the appreciation for ma, or negative space. It is the intuition that what is unseen is not "nothing" but rather that the "in-between" is filled with presence. Human connections, spaces, time—the most important things are invisible, yet they are connected by the ma between them. This reverence for negative space is reflected in this exhibition.
Galerie Lulla
