90年代を代表する写真家として様々な媒体での仕事をはじめ、多くの写真集を発表してきた佐内正史。2008年にスタートさせた自主写真集レーベル「対照」では、より独自性の高い写真集を、これまでに16冊制作してきました。

Vacantでは2012年に、「対照」の写真集の解体を試みるイベント『解対照』を開催して以来、佐内の活動を追いながら、共に対話を続けています。

今回新たな試みとなる『展対照』では、「対照」で発表してきた写真集から選出した写真作品の展示・販売を行います。本展は〈第一部〉として、『写真の体毛』、『度九層』そして『島島』のアウトテイクから約30点の写真が並びます。展示される小さなサイズの手焼きプリントは、展対照限定のプリントとして販売します。

写真を巡る道程が、またここにひとつ切り開かれていきます。

Masafumi Sanai, a leading photographer of the 1990s, has published numerous photobooks alongside his work across various media. Since launching his independent photobook label Taisho in 2008, he has released 16 uniquely personal titles.

At Vacant, we have been in continued dialogue with Sanai ever since hosting the 2012 event Kaitaishow, an experimental dissection of his photobooks from the Taisho series.

In this new endeavor titled Tentaishow, we will present and offer for sale selected photographic works from the Taisho series. This first chapter features approximately 30 images, including outtakes from Shashin No Taimou, Dokuso, and Shima-Shima. Each hand-printed photograph, displayed in a small format, will be available exclusively through this exhibition.
