アーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラム”Althe Artist Residency”の第二回目のアーティストは、スウェーデン出身のJon Koko （ヨン・ココ）。彼の繊細且つ淡いタッチで描かれる作品には、まるで寓話の世界を映し出したような風景が広がっています。日本、そして日本文化をこよなく愛する彼の作品の端々に、日本への敬愛を感じます。そして近年制作を続けている、建築物や車などを主に紙でつくりあげる「建築彫刻」。今回は和紙を使用したこのシリーズの新作を中心に展示します。

Please joins us to celebrate our second artist-in-resident of the Althe Artist Residency program. Jon Koko (Malmö, Sweden) creates delicate landscapes that reflect the world of fables. His love of Japan and Japanese culture is evident in every detail of his work. In recent years, he has continued to create 'architectural sculptures' - buildings, cars and other structures made mainly from paper. This exhibition focuses on new works from this series using Japanese paper.

スウェーデン出身のアーティスト、1988年生まれ、Malmö在住。2011年の初来日を機に、日本美術や建築への関心を深め、長野で木版画を学ぶなど、日本文化への造詣を深めてきた。作品は和紙や木を用いた「建築彫刻」や、空間の余白を生かした構図と淡い色調の絵画作品など、繊細で詩的な表現を追求している。jonkoko.com｜@jonkoko

Jon Koko

Jon Koko Artist from Sweden, born in 1988, currently based in Malmö. Since his first visit to Japan in 2011, he has deepened his interest in Japanese art and architecture, even studying woodblock printing in Kyoto and Nagano, which has enriched his understanding of Japanese culture.
