Galerie Lulla
This time, we aimed to create a space within Galerie Lulla's open environment where works born through the unique sensibilities cultivated by Japanese culture could "resonate" with one another.
One key element within the concept of "unique sensibilities" is the appreciation for ma, or negative space. It is the intuition that what is unseen is not "nothing" but rather that the "in-between" is filled with presence. Human connections, spaces, time—the most important things are invisible, yet they are connected by the ma between them. This reverence for negative space is reflected in this exhibition.
